let's start with the obvious...who joins you in the ultimate play list? Slobber Bone, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Trailer Bride, Spoon, Kasey Chambers, Barry White, Nick Lowe, Zep, Bad Seeds.

influences?   The Stones (meaning The Flintstones, of course), Beatles but more from a psychedelic standpoint, Cohen, Ramones, Floyd, The King, Parsons, Prine, King Crimson.

name 3 bands in the 'top 25 played' play list on your ipod. Raconteurs were fun for a week, but I've already dumped them for space. Radiohead, The Appleseed Cast, Social Distortion.

who is your biggest competitor? Right now its Wal-Mart, but I expect that to change when I get to Germany.

are your songs true stories? Certainly I write from experience. I tend to write poems when I'm in love, and then lyrics when love has departed and melancholy moves in. I borrow lines from the poems to balance out the songs. Words have a curious duality of their own.

name some favorite local musicians. Steve Connelly, Rebekah Pulley, Ronny Elliott, Ed Wright & Damon Fowler, Johnny G Lyons.

what bands have you seen recently? Chuck Prophet, Lucinda Williams, Donna the Buffalo, Mofro, the favorites listed above.

if you didn't have a record player, which albums would you keep anyway? Abbey Road, God Save the Queen, Dark Side, Old No. 1, Harvest Moon.

where do you hang out? New World, any place Irish

where would you never be caught dead?  New Tampa

when is the last time you caught a fish off your dock? I could actually have my own fishing show, but I use a technique called 'fillet and release' which is sometimes frowned upon.

when did you know you were a songwriter?  Somewhere around the age of 18 years.  After reflecting upon certain states of mind; dreaming, daydreaming, twilight between consciouness and unconsiousness, sometimes induced,  it occurred to me that the music I had heard during those periods was not from memory.

did the cat forgive you?  My cat 'Zak' could numbly sit and listen to me play drums for hours.  Perhaps because there really is no place of refuge in a small house.   However, as soon as I opened the case to get out my guitar he would run to the far end of the house.  I tried to ignore it.  I'm more of a dog man now.
